30 Degree's in Florida?

So CJ the youngest has special needs and the bus pulls up to our home in the morning, correction nice and early in the morning.  I get him up at 6am to get him ready.  This morning we didn't have the heat on because we live in Florida right?  So it was 39 degrees outside!  He told me this morning Dad this is cold are we in Georgia?  I said no, so he replied is it Wintertime?  Neverless to say he was looking for the snow outside since it was so cold. Megan who didn't want to leave her warm blanket said she would be right up, then crawled back under the covers. Amazing no one wanted hot oatmeal and toast this morning, for some reason kids don't like it like I did growing up.  Getting them all off to school is fun, they struggle to wake up as if they don't get enough sleep.  Their bedtimes are at 8pm and usually it's on the money for them crashing out at that time.  Getting them off they are so excited to get home today to finish the tree.  We picked one out last night and it's bigger than the stand we have so today I will have to find one to fit it.  The Wife had planned to leave at 6am this morning but around 9ish she decided that she wasn't going.  She is going to work from home today.  It's amazing to see all the people around here drive their kids to school, even if it's just a block away, the neighbor next door they are probably in their 70's commented to me you walk the kids to school every day that is a great Father, we never see anyone do that around here.  I smile and tell her that I actually enjoy it, talking with them on the way is those experiences that will be with them for the rest of their lifes.  I guess more later today, have some chores around here to do.

In the beginning

The fact that I'm sitting next to a fire in Palm Beach in December is a long story.  So let's start at the beginning of our little journey to Palm Beach. I was born here at the Good Sam Hospital in Palm Beach forty plus years ago, but never really lived here, sure a year and a half for high school after years spent in Europe and a few years at the best college in the state (that's Florida State for those who didn't attend).  But mostly of the past few years has been in Georgia.  I have alot of family there and for the past 20 years Georgia has really been home.  I have spent years in Restaurants, as a Business Cousuelor, Restaurateur, and a very poor Landlord.  Since then we have five children, two crazy girls (9 and 13) and three crazier boys (19, 13, and the rough 7 year old) plus 1 weiner dog which is nothing but trouble.  My beautiful Wife works from home most of the time for a international Chemical company and rarely travels.  So I have the best of both worlds, with spending time with my Wife and Children all the time.

We live in Jupiter, Florida the home to such stars as Celine Doin, Burt Reynolds (and yes I have a autographed book from him),  and Greg Norman and Mr. Tiger Woods himself.  It's nothing to be seating next to Olive Newton John at the Chilis Restaurant.  It's great living here as the schools are A+, actually they are pretty hard core on the kids which never had to stuggle in Altanta but here it's a challenge.  My Grandmother is down the street from us so it's nice that she gets to see the children and plus we get to help her if she needs it.  We also have the beach here and it's amazing, there is park called DeBois and it has a lagoon with mangroves the kids love to play there.

Each day I will post something about our interesting life and our stuggles with everyone living and working in the same house.  It's a roller coaster riding with more ups than downs, hope you enjoy.
